Welcome to NiaXDesigns
Welcome to NiaXDesigns, a place where creativity and culture are interwoven into every thread of our unique home decor and interior design offerings.
Our story began in 2011, in the sunny state of California, under the name of Lenia’s Interior Designs. Named after our founder, Lenia Smith-Korsah, we started with a simple mission: to transform homes into personalized sanctuaries that reflect the unique personalities and cultures of their inhabitants. Over the years, our commitment to this mission has never wavered, but our reach has expanded.
In 2019, we embraced a new identity as NiaXDesigns, LLC. This change was more than just a new name; it was a reflection of our evolution and growth as a company. Yet, the essence of Lenia’s vision remains at the core of NiaXDesigns. Today, we are proud to have our head office in California and a significant presence in the vibrant and diverse DMV area, which encompasses the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia.

Frequently Asked Questions
Combining patterns
In the world of interior design, patterns play a pivotal role in creating harmony, depth, and character within a room. When used effectively, the combination of various patterns can transform a simple space into a curated, visually appealing ensemble that tells a captivating story.
The art of combining patterns is a delicate balance. It’s about creating a visual symphony where different patterns, each with their own rhythm and melody, come together to perform a harmonious composition. It’s not just about mixing and matching; it’s about creating a relationship between different elements in the room, where each pattern contributes to a cohesive narrative.
Imagine a living room where a bold, geometric rug complements a floral sofa, while striped throw pillows add a touch of whimsy. Or a bedroom where a paisley duvet cover is paired with chevron curtains and ikat throw cushions. These patterns, each unique in their own right, when brought together, can create a layered, rich, and dynamic environment.
While combining patterns, it’s important to remember the principle of scale. A mix of large, medium, and small-scale patterns often works best, preventing any single pattern from overpowering the others. Additionally, maintaining a consistent color palette can help tie different patterns together, creating a sense of unity amidst the diversity.
Another strategy to consider when mixing patterns is to use solids as a grounding element. Solid colors can provide visual breaks, allowing the eye to rest between different patterns, and highlighting the unique charm of each pattern.
The beauty of combining patterns lies in its ability to imbue a room with personality and depth. It can help communicate your unique style, create visual interest, and make your space feel more dynamic. It’s about creating a dialogue between different elements in the room, a dialogue that speaks to your sensibilities and tastes.
Remember, there are no strict rules when it comes to combining patterns. It’s about finding what appeals to you, experimenting, and not being afraid to break the mold. After all, the most beautiful rooms are those that reflect the people who live in them. So, don’t shy away from patterns. Embrace them, combine them, and watch as they breathe life and personality into your room.
